Canvases 29-47, the long-awaited latest issue of Aberdeen's own art-inspired
poetry publication, featuring brand new poems by Alan Young, Keith Murray, Gerard
Rochford, Sheena Blackhall and Louise Counsell, will be launched at Aberdeen Arts
Centre.
The five poets will read a selection of poems from the book, relating to paintings
by Matisse, Ramsay, Breughel, Hockney, Eardley, Dyce, McBey and Currie, including
poems on landscape and renewal.
There will also be violin music from Louise Counsell, and there will be open mic.
Open mic participants can of course read anything they wish, but poems with an angle
on art would be particularly welcome for the event.
The poets will be happy to sign and personalise copies.
